Finding time for yourself when your family and career need you is tough. I get it. As a working mum of a 10-month old and step-mum to a 12-year old, it can often feel like there aren't enough hours in the day. But making time to look after your physical and mental health is SO important. (I can't stress that enough!)
The thing is, we all know that we should be looking after ourselves, and we understand that exercise is good for us, it's just that it's the last thing many of us feel like doing at the end of a long day.
So, I thought I'd share my top 6 baby weight home exercises that I do with my son pretty much daily in one form or another. Not only has it helped with postpartum weight loss, but it's also helped to rebuild my strength.
The game-changer here was realising that I could workout with my baby or when he's playing by himself. Sure, the exercises aren't as intense, and I'm more limited to the things I can do (no dumbbells flying around for a start!), but I can get my heart rate rising, blood pumping and body moving.
Most days I do these activities while I'm waiting for the kettle to boil, or during playtime, but when I have more time at the weekends, I like to turn them into wellness workouts or exercise by myself while Leo plays. It doesn't matter if he interrupts, and actually, I'm proud for him to grow up knowing how strong his mum is and for him to see me looking after myself. (I do also hope he'll do yoga with me when he's a bit older too, but we'll have to wait and see on that one.)
